Up for auction is an exceptionally rare Roy Rogers & Trigger Yo-Yo, produced in the late 1940s by All Western Plastics, pioneers in early plastics manufacturing. These yo-yos were part of a national promotion led by Roy Rogers himself—“The King of Cowboys”—and his horse Trigger. They were offered as prizes in radio contests and mail-order campaigns, with the grand prize being an all-expense-paid trip to Hollywood to meet Roy and Trigger in person.

This yo-yo features:

-A vibrant yellow plastic body

-One side showcasing an iconic image of Roy Rogers and Trigger

-The reverse side with original text detailing the “Roundup King” contest

-Manufactured by All Western Plastics, Inc., Scottsbluff, Nebraska

Historical Significance:

All Western Plastics also produced buggy whips and saddles before a devastating tornado destroyed their factory in the early 1950s, wiping out the molds for these yo-yos. Only a limited number survived, making this a true collector’s treasure. This particular yo-yo comes from the estate of Roy Rugger, part owner of All Western Plastics, and was stored in his garage for decades.
